We have counseled countless men who said to us that once they were in the other relationship/relationships it was very hard to give it up because they liked the chase. The thrill of it all, the attention and affirmation they received from the other women kept them in the game. However, they tell us it was a very High Price to pay for Low living. The 2nd bit of advice to married men who cheat but want to stop is Think, Think, Think, Think, and Think!!!!!!! You have more to think about than yourself. The devastation and destruction that takes place in the family of married men who cheat but want to stop is almost indescribable. Being married to a man who cheated on me sent me into a depression I did not think I could dig my way out of. It made me feel like I was the most ugly, dumb, worthless person on earth. There were times when I didn’t think I could get my head off the pillow in the mornings. You might say well my wife doesn’t know. Believe me your wife knows something is going on. The two (2) of you are one (1) flesh and when my flesh was out doing something wrong, I knew it. No matter how much he denied it I knew something was happening. Married men who cheat but want to stop bring home the Spirit of Lust and deposit it. Then you see the kids acting crazy and you wonder why. The next thing you know Johnny is looking at porn sites and Judy is sneaking around with a knuckle head boy at school or on Facebook. Think about it. The 3rd and final word of wisdom I have to married men who cheat but want to stop is Remember, Remember, Remember, Remember, and Remember your wedding Vows. You promised God and your wife that you would Love, Cherish, and Honor her until death do you part. What is your word worth? You may not have meant it but she did. As quiet as it’s kept God meant it too. You made vows to God and He will do everything He can to help you keep those vows. Married men who cheat but want to stop certainly can, but how big is your want to? One of the reasons cheating and infidelity is so serious is that it literally affects generations to come. You are giving place to the enemy. You are allowing him to go from generation to generation with this same sin of adultery until you ask God to forgive you and repent, which means turn and go in the opposite direction with the intent never to be unfaithful again. After that you must say out loud, “Father, I Break this Generational Curse of Adultery and loose the Holy Spirit to permeate the lives of me and my generations to come with Faithfulness, Love and Obedience to God forever.” God will honor that. Believe me this is good Godly advice to married men who cheat but want to stop and it will work if you work it.
